GRAVEL ROUTE HIGHLIGHTS

Immerse yourself in the rural landscapes of Mansfield on this advanced gem of a gravel loop. Take on 52.3km of undulating, hardpacked country roads and lightly used farm tracks backdropped by snowcapped peaks. Challenge yourself with over 700 metres of climbing on gradients up to 14%. Drop in at Delatite Winery on-route stop for cool-climate wine tastings and enjoy a celebratory lunch or dinner at one of Mansfield or Merrijig's many pubs and restaurants.

This advanced point-to-point gravel ride has it all. Starting from majestic Lake Buffalo, pedal along smooth Rose River Road to the heart of the King Valley wine region. Over 52km experience 644 metres of climbing, fun descents, mountain vistas, rivers, bushland and vineyards. Refresh with a glass of Prosecco in Whitfield at one of the famous Prosecco Road wineries. Stay overnight and return the next day by the same route or pre-organise a pick-up.

With over 1000 metres of climbing in only 40km the advanced Mt Porepunkah loop is not for the faint-hearted. The gradual climb rewards you with an amazing 360 degree view before an exhilarating descent down to the valley below, and an easy roll back to town along the Murray to the Mountains Rail Trail. Best ridden clockwise, start from Bright or Porepunkah. Don't forget to stop for a glass of Ringer Reef Winery's famous rosé on-route.

Ride along smooth gravel country lanes and bike paths on this scenic 43.7km intermediate point-to-point ride. Linking historic Beechworth to charming Chiltern via the Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park, enjoy a mostly downhill roll surrounded by the sounds of the area's prolific birdlife. After more of a climbing challenge? Ride from Chiltern to Beechworth to test the legs with 696 metres of ascent.

Soak in spectacular views on the 59.2km Lake Road Loop. Skirting the tranquil shores of Lake Hume before climbing to Jarvis Plateau, this mixed-surface ride is a test of endurance. Climb 800 metres of elevation for breathtaking views as you pedal sealed roads, rail trail and remote technical gravel. Recommended for advanced riders, you will need to be self-sufficient with good fitness. Refuel after your ride at one of Tallangatta's charming country pubs or cafes.

Racecourse Roll is a fantastic entry into gravel riding, suitable for the whole family. Starting and finishing in relaxed Yea, the 9.2km beginner loop takes you out towards Tallarook on the Great Victorian Rail Trail and back to town on smooth gravel roads. soak in the fresh country air as you enjoy scenic views of rolling farmland. On return explore the sights and sounds of Yea including the historic Yea Railway Station, Wetlands Discovery Centre, shops, cafes and restaurants.
