Okay, so you probably know by now just how proud all of us at Ride High Country are to host the Peaks Challenge Falls Creek every year… it’s been voted one of the world’s top ten Gran Fondo’s after all. But did you know that by registering for this years edition, and tackling the 235km ride with 4,000+ metres of climbing in our beautiful Victorian Alps, that you’ll be making a valuable economic contribution to the region that suffered so much during the recent bushfires.
As the bushfire threat recedes across most of the country, many towns across the Victorian High Country are doing it tough with millions lost in vital tourism dollars. Bicycle Network have heeded our call to support riders to #RollOnBack to Australia’s premier cycling destination.
Bicycle Network will be directing any Peaks Challenge event costs they can into the local economy, encouraging riders to pick up their supplies once they arrive in the region and donating $5 to Blaze Aid for every rider who crosses the finish line on Sunday 8 March. What better reason for a big day in the saddle!
