  • Difficulty: Black
  • Distance: 20.9 km
Ride Description

Victoria’s 7 Peaks Ride is an at-your-own pace cycling challenge which run from October 2017 to April 2018, taking you up winding mountain roads, around steep turns and past spectacular views right to the top of seven Victorian Alpine Resorts.

Distance 20.9km • Rise 932m • Grade Average 4% • Grade Max 10%

Lake Mountain is the closest of the 7 Peaks to Melbourne and is a great first challenge for 7 Peakers. Start the ride in Marysville and climb a challenging 21km to the resort village. Reaching grades of up to 10%, the first 4km up Robley Spur is the most sustained and steepest part of the whole ascent. Once you reach the top of the spur the stunning views across the Cathedral Range are your reward. There is a short downhill section, rolling climbs and flatter areas, before the last gentle climb to the village.

This is a climb of two parts and the first 4.5km is very hard. Warm up your legs before you start as the only section of the same length (in the 7 Peaks) that is harder is Mt Baw Baw. If you can get through the first 4.5km you can do it all!
