UP & DOWN HILLS

HIGH COUNTRY RAIL TRAIL

No pain, no gain! These High Country Rail Trail rides start of with gentle climbs, but prepare yourself for a push up to the highest Railway Station in Victoria. It's all downhill from here, so catch your breath as roll on into Corryong. Remember you can take some pits stops along the way, it's not a race!

Lake Hume
OLD TALLANGATTA TO DARBYSHIRE (15KM)

Leaving the foreshore of Lake Hume the rail trail gently climbs through some of the best grazing country in North East Victoria and around three spectacular double storied trestle bridges.

DARBYSHIRE TO SHELLEY (20KM)

Ride through peppermint scented forests and over some spectacular restored timber trestle bridges. The 77m long Boggy Creek trestle bridge is a great photo stop after refreshments at the Koetong Pub. It's quite the uphill churn to Shelley Station, the highest railway station in Victoria, but you'll be rewarded with a lovely descent after all your hard work.

HIGH COUNTRY RAIL TRAIL
