It's EPIC, it's linking the townships of Beechworth and Yackandandah and officially here! The Indigo Epic Trail is a brand new 56km All Mountain single track mountain biking trail connecting the historic towns of Beechworth and Yackandandah.
Built to an intermediate blue rating, this incredible mountain bike trail offers something for everyone, packed full of features and running through some of the most spectacular scenery in Victoria’s High Country. Better yet, it’s open year-round meaning you can plan your trip to Beechworth or Yackandandah whenever you like.

HIGHLIGHTS

CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE
The Indigo Epic trail has been built with a “helix loop design” with flowing descents and undulating climbs. This means the Epic can be tackled in its full length from Beechworth or Yackandandah, or cut into shorter loops making the trail ideal for all levels of riders as well as families - choose your own adventure.

HOMEWARD BOUND
Get ready for 6km of thrills. The Beechworth to Yackandandah Homeward Bound trail section is all about the descent. Take this trail section at your own pace with doubles, gaps, hip jumps and step-ups served up for advanced riders alongside B-line features making it perfect to ride with a range of rider abilities.
Safety is always essential on the trail especially when riding in remote areas. Make sure to scope all features and ride within your limits.


Ferny Gully & Gold Rush
Love a challenge? Don’t miss the undulating Ferny Gully and Gold Rush areas. This section of the trail is arguably the most spectacular with sculpted berms, thick ferns and ridgeline views. Stop and catch your breath at the Gold Rush bridge crossing over the rushing waters of Nine Mile Creek before taking on the switchback heavy Wallaby Climb.
Spectacular Scenery
This immersive trail links the best of the existing hand-built Yack Tracks MTB network to Beechworth with over 22km of newly constructed machine built trail. Feel a million miles away as you ride through the spectacular High Country past thickly forested gullys, lush ferns and over rushing creeks as the trail takes you through Stanley State Forest with its magical pine forests, and the Nine Mile Creek Historic area.

The Indigo Epic trail offers world-class riding right next to the vibrant historic gold-rush towns of Beechworth and Yackandandah. No matter your taste you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to biking, eating and drinking. Kickstart your day with coffee and pastries at Project Forty Nine in Beechworth.
Refuel with local favourite The Star Hotel in Yackandandah and don’t miss the Yack Creek Distillery, located right on the trail and a must do for whiskey and gin enthusiasts. After a big day on the bike why not quench your thirst with craft beer and pizza at Bridge Road Brewers right in the heart of Beechworth.
Endless Exploration
Just can’t get enough of riding? Techy singletrack paradise Beechworth MTB Park and Yackandandah MTB Park plus endless gravel routes are also in the area and offer some seriously fun loops.
