I have turned 50 last year. Been riding for three years. I own one and only bike lol. I have a nursing background and I am married with three boys.

I got into cycling through meeting people. I was a gym junkie but when I started going outdoors to cycling Wow! I just went for more rides and more rides.

I started riding with my husband, then met through friends, a women’s cycling group. As I became confident and stronger my speed increased. So in the second year I was looking for another group to experience cycling with and to further my strength I joined the Couldabeens Fabulous group of men and women. I’ve been with the Couldabeens for a year now. I still

Ride with the women’s group on a Monday. (Hexecats)

Wow! I got to hear about these Peaks through riding friends. I thought OMG! Who does this? These people must be super fit athletes!! Within the year I became fitter and said hey I’m going to do these Peaks. My husband thought OMG! I said I’m going to ride these peaks alone if you don’t come – guess what he rode every Peak with me. He was there at the start and at the finish! I had a plan to start the Saturday with Lake Mountain. Due to both of us having the Friday off we thought why not start with Mt Buffalo. So Friday was Mt Buffalo, Saturday was Lake Mountain and a funny thing happened we decided to drive all the way over to Mt BawBaw. These amazing Peaks do funny things to you. Magical moments !! Fun fun fun.

The Sunday we drove up MT Baw Baw and thought OMG!! Unbelievable I will never forget that experience gripping onto the brakes.

Within four weeks we had completed the seven peaks and Wow!Wow! and more Wow! I love Hotham due to awesome views and the long downhill ride. I have turned into a thrill seeker and I haven’t stopped climbing since! I must be one of those amazing athletes that I thought I could never be!! Lol!!
